(Photo by Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images)Thursday night, Sporting News reported that Urban Meyer, who stepped down as the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes last month, would be possibly taking on a new job in 2019. Meyer is reportedly in talks with FOX on joining their college football broadcast team.In the aftermath, some have been critical of Meyer, joking that his health issues must have already healed if he’s ready to take on a new job.Well, Meyer’s wife has come to his defense on Twitter. Just hours after informing her followers that the Meyer family will not be moving from Ohio, she made it clear that if her husband does take the job, he won’t be facing the same level of commitment. The tweet is part of a conversation she had with Kyle Lamb of BuckeyeGrove.com:Right…Retiring from COACHING, not living. He isn’t ready to lie around the house. A lot less intensity in the duties he has now. LOTS. Did I say LOTS? ??All good.— Shelley ❌eyer (@spinnershells) January 18, 2019Meyer is also reportedly taking on an administrative role at Ohio State – and he’ll teach some classes. At the moment, it’s unclear what role Meyer would have at FOX. He could be part of the studio team – or he could call games as a color analyst.Either way, it doesn’t look like his wife thinks the job will be nearly as taxing as what he’s been doing the past few years. That’s probably a good thing.last_img read more
