Kitchener man killed in Haldimand crash

A 34-year-old Kitchener man has been identified as the driver who was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle crash early on June 28 in Haldimand County.Haldimand OPP said Kendall Waite was behind the wheel of a sedan southbound on Highway 56 that collided with a northbound commercial vehicle, which left the roadway and struck a utility pole and trees. A witness told police the sedan crossed into the northbound lane.Police said the accident happened before 7 a.m. on Highway 56, north of Concession 4 Road, in Empires Corners.The male driver of the commercial vehicle involved was transported to hospital by paramedics.OPP traffic collision investigators are helping with the investigation.Highway 56 was closed between Haldimand Road 9 and Haldibrook Road for 15 hours while emergency crews were on the scene andAnyone who may have witnessed the collision or have any information is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122. read more
