CAN 2017 Morocco Loses Opening Game to DR Congo 01

Oyem (Gabon) – The Moroccan football squad on Monday suffered a 0-1 defeat to the Democratic Republic of Congo in their opening match of the 2017 African Cup of Nations (CAN 2017), held in Gabon on January 14 through February 5.Junior Kalonji scored the only goal of the game at the 55th minute to put his side at top of Group C.In the opening game of this group, Côte d’Ivoire and Togo tied 0-0. In the second day, scheduled for January 20, Morocco will play Togo while defending champion Côte d’Ivoire will face DR Congo.

Hamilton man 21 charged with impaired driving

Three people have suffered minor injuries and a woman is left fighting for her life in hospital following a head-on crash in Brantford.It happened on Park Ave. near Colborne St. around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.Police say a white car was travelling on Park Ave. when it crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a black SUV.The male driver of the car and a female passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Another woman, who was also a passenger in the vehicle, was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries.The woman who was driving the SUV suffered minor injuries.A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with impaired and dangerous driving.
